Herefordshire & Worcestershire Health & Care Trust have an exciting opportunity for a Rotational Band 5 Occupational Therapist.
We are looking for a motivated rotational Occupational Therapist to work across a variety of settings inpatient rehab, inpatient Stroke rehab, Reablement (domiciliary rehab) and community Mental Health. This is an opportunity to develop your professional identity, and a range of skills and competencies across clinical fields.
Rotations are 6 months in duration and 7 day working is expected across inpatient rotations.
You will benefit from a robust supervision, appraisal and training model. We offer preceptorship support for newly graduates as well as career development opportunities and rotation specific teaching. We have close links with local Universities with the opportunity for practice education (1 year post qualification). With the support on offer we hope to empower you to develop a broad range of knowledge, skills, and clinical interests across the four pillars of practice.
This post would suit a newly qualified or an experienced band 5 therapist looking to develop their skills and knowledge. The rotation can be based anywhere within Worcestershire, although we aim to accommodate your preferences based. It is desirable that you meet the transport requirements for the role.

Main duties of the job
The roles will involve patient assessment and delivery of occupational therapy interventions to the population of Worcestershire in a variety of clinical settings.
You will be required to assess, treat, and manage a caseload of patients within each service specialty. To assist with case load management of the wider MDT or specific individual service requirements.
We would expect you to contribute to high quality, patient-centred care using evidence-based knowledge and skill. There will also be an opportunity to assist with service development, and to teach and supervise other clinicians and students and help to shape the future workforce.

Job description
Job responsibilities
- Demonstrate the values and beliefs of the organisation.

- Provide an occupational therapy service within a defined area on each rotation, working as part of a specialist occupational therapy team.
- Undertake therapeutic assessments of patients with diverse complex and acute/chronic presentation, to determine clinical diagnosis and occupational therapy treatments needed, and to maintain records as an autonomous practitioner.
- Hold responsibility for own caseload and be responsible for a defined area of the service/particular patient type, working without direct supervision.
- Deputise for Senior Occupational therapist.
- Supervise and train health care professionals, carers, and assistants in occupational therapy management, as appropriate. This includes working as a member of a Multi-Disciplinary Team.
