It's a great time to be a part of the Thanet Community Mental Health Team , we have implemented the Clinical Care Pathways to an improved and innovative service for our Service Users, Carers and Staff.
This role includes team working in an identified intervention pathway as a registered mental health nurse Band 6 and you will be focused on promoting recovery for those people diagnosed with severe and enduring mental ill health. The team provides comprehensive multi-disciplinary services and work closely with local specialist mental health teams, tertiary service providers, primary care, local statutory and non-statutory agencies, service users and carers.
We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic NMC registered mental health nurse, who has a strong sense of initiative and an excellent team working ability.
Main duties of the job
The Community Mental Health Nurse is a key clinical part within the multidisciplinary care team and will have continuing responsibility to assess, plan, deliver identified interventions, evaluate care, influence and drive change and promote health and best practice, patient safety and experience. Thanet CMHT work as a team and
clinicians do not hold an individual caseload. The teams ethos is to share risk as apposed too allowing one clinician to manage the risk in isolation.
Effective communication skills and self-governance are required. You will be able to demonstrate knowledge of high level interventions & community assessment skills. Existing qualifications or a willingness to undertake training relevant to the post is expected.

Person Specification Experience Essential
- A Registered Mental Health Nurse
- One years experience as a Band 5 RMN
- Knowledge of secondary care criteria
- Experience in delivering specialist interventions such as STEPPS
Skills and Knowledge Essential
- Good IT skills
- Good of Risk Management
- Understanding of Interagency Workings
- Practice Assessor qualifications
