An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Online Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) Team as an Online CBT Coordinator, working from home with a base near Brecon, Powys. Providing an online therapy service designed to help children, young people and adults manage their mental health and wellbeing. health problems and enhance the professional psychological care of service users.

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with experience of CBT to offer clinical support whilst focussing on recovery and outcomes.

Ability to speak, read and write in Welsh to level 4 of the NHS Welsh Language Skills Matrix is a must as is an honours degree in Psychology (or equivalent) and also eligibility for affiliate status graduate membership of the British Psychological Society.

Requirements include high standards in all forms of communication, basic IT skills, work well under pressure, and have a flexible approach to work.

Main duties of the job

Promote and administer the Online CBT service, including maintaining patient records registering service users on the programme, providing patients with activation details, corresponding with, monitoring and offering clinical support throughout the programme.

Make decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to the department's referral protocols, referring unsuitable clients on to the relevant service.

Provide support and advice to all referring healthcare professionals, answering any queries they or their service users may have with regards to online CBT.

Motivate, encourage and offer clinical telephone/email support to service users throughout completion of the Online CBT programme.

Be proactive in proposing changes to procedures and provide support in introducing these changes.

Responsible for the management of the protocol process for monitoring and reporting of any risk alerts, criminal intent or patient deterioration as reported by users either within the Online CBT system or directly.

Manage clinical responsibility for any self-referrals for the online CBT service.

Provide training and continual support to the referring healthcare professionals relating to the Online CBT service.

Person Specification English Essential
  • Honours degree in Psychology or equivalent Eligibility for affiliate status graduate membership of the British Psychological Society
  • Diploma in counselling with significant experience of delivering CBT
  • Knowledge and understanding of different delivery methods of brief psychological therapiesguided self-help, Online CBT Knowledge and understanding of CBT and Online CBT principles, interventions and or other psychological therapies
  • Knowledge and understanding of the stigma and discrimination that can sometimes be experienced by individuals suffering mental health problems, and commitment to challenging all discriminatory beliefs and behaviour
  • Understanding of the assessment and management of risk within primary health care
  • Ability to speak, read and write in Welsh to level 4 of the NHS Welsh Language Skills Matrix
  • Evidence of working with clients with common mental health problems such as anxiety and depression Experience of providing mental health support
  • Proven experience of working effectively with adult/young people / children's brief psycho therapeutic/ psychosocial interventions
  • Demonstrates high standards in all forms of communication
  • Ability and willingness to learn new skills and ways of working
  • Ability to adapt approach according to individual's needs, values, capacities, social context, and resources in order to practice in an age and ability inclusive way

Desirable
  • Qualification in CBT or other evidence-based qualification - post grad or diploma level Accredited with BABCP or UKCP or other equivalent body or working towards
  • Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (Post graduate Certificate)
  • Experience in using Online CBT platforms Knowledge and experience of delivering CBT guided self-help face to face and via telephone
  • Awareness of theory and models that underpin counselling/or evidence based psychological therapies
  • Awareness of the legislation underpinning service delivery, e.g. Mental Health (Wales) Measure 2010
  • Experience of organising and facilitation of psycho-education to groups of service users
  • Evidence of supporting daily living, community networking, health promotion
  • Ability to undertake clinical risk assessment
  • Interest and or experience in research
