Therapeutic Radiographers play an essential part in providing excellence in radiotherapy treatments for the people of Somerset. We are seeking a passionate and skilled Therapeutic Radiographer to join our Radiotherapy Department. You'll play a crucial role in planning and delivering precise radiation treatment to patients with cancer, ensuring the highest standards of care and safety. You will work closely with oncologists, physicists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualised treatment plans, helping to improve patient outcomes.

Main duties of the job

You will :

• be responsible for the efficient and smooth running of treatment units to which the radiographer is assigned to ensure and maintain standards in the treatment of patients with a cancer diagnosis
• be part of a team in the treatment process ensuring the highest professional and technical standards are set and maintained .
• provide a patient focused service working across professional boundaries
• undertake radiotherapeutic procedures efficiently and to treat patients with ionising radiation in accordance with prescribed protocols, radiation control measures and medico-legal requirements
• be involved in the continuous development of Radiotherapy Services

This is a rotational post and will also involve working in pre-treatment, superficial X-ray and the radiotherapy review service.

• BSc (Hons) degree in Radiotherapy or Diploma of College of Radiographers DCR[T]HCPC Registered Therapy Radiographer

Experience

Essential

• A thorough and detailed knowledge of principles and concepts underpinning the broad range of applications and techniques used in radiotherapyExperience of working with whole range of radiotherapy equipment including treatment planning systems, record and verify systems, CT simulators linear accelerators and superficial x-ray unitsAbility to communicate with staff and patients at all levels

Desirable

• Experience working with Elekta equipment
