Bank Forensic Mental Health Nurses
Hellingly Centre is a modern purpose built medium secure unit for people aged over 18, specialising in the assessment and treatment of people with complex and enduring mental health needs who have had contact with the criminal justice system. We assess and manage people whose conditions cannot safely be treated other than in a secure or supervised environment.
Hellingly Centre has three specialist wards, each looked after by staff from a range of different backgrounds.
As a bank nurse you will have the flexibility to work across wards within the centre; Ash Ward, a male treatment recovery ward with 15 beds, Oak Ward, a male assessment and high dependency ward, and Blossom Ward, a service for women with 15 beds.
Main duties of the job
Our service consists of a Nursing Team, Psychiatrists, Social Workers, Psychologists, Occupational Therapist, Family Liaison Assistant, Physical Health Team, and GP. Patient care is always based on multi-dimensional approach and gives learning opportunity for qualified nurse to be involved in clinical assessments including specialized forensic risk clinics, formulation of HCR-20, DUNDRUM-1, BVC scoring and many more.
Clinical Team runs Therapy Sessions and Groups tailored to patient's specific needs. Currently we facilitate Hearing Voices Group, Impatient Violence and Aggression Programme (IVAMP), Healthy Sexual Behaviour Group and more. Nurses are always welcomed to co-facilitate groups.

To achieve the highest standards we have already embarked on a programme to transform the culture of the Trust to one of continuous improvement, delivered through participation of all staff and with service users, carers and families at the heart of our efforts.
