As a Band 7 Specialist Pelvic health Physiotherapist the post holder will be responsible for performing advanced assessment of patients with diverse presentations and complex medical, physical and psychological conditions, to develop and deliver an individualised management/treatment programme. Following assessment the post holder will be responsible for making therapeutic and/or clinical diagnoses and treating their own caseload of specialised and complex patients/clients and maintaining associated records.

Main duties of the job

The post holder may lead a team and be responsible for providing an advanced standard of care to patients at Imperial College NHS Healthcare Trust, which covers a multi-cultural and diverse population. The post holder will supervise the work of other more junior staff and support workers. The post holder may be rotational and will be expected to work across all sites of the ICHNT. The post holder will assist the Clinical Lead in contributing to the planning, coordination, development and evaluation of the service. Together with other senior staff, you will act as a resource of specialist advice to the rest of the therapy service and other professions.For therapy services where there is current weekend working, the post holder is required to work at weekends as part of their contracted hours of work once they have completed the relevant induction and achieved the required competencies (specific rota details are held locally within departments).For physiotherapy services where there is an on call service: The post holder is required to participate in the overnight on call rota and will do so once they have completed the relevant induction and achieved the required competencies (specific rota details are held locally within departments).

Person Specification

Education/ Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree (or equivalent) in (therapy profession)
  • State registration with the Health Professions Council
  • Evidence of CPD through maintenance of a portfolio, especially in the relevant clinical area
  • Clinical Educators course or equivalent


Desirable

  • Membership of the Professional Organisation
  • Membership of Professional special interest groups relevant to speciality
  • Relevant Postgraduate clinical qualification
  • Management skills or leadership training


Experience

Essential

  • Significant recent clinical experience in relevant clinical area
  • Evidence of a broad base of clinical experience at Band 6 level or equivalent
  • Significant experience of working as an integral member of a multidisciplinary team and inter-agency working
  • Experience of multidisciplinary goal planning, development of care pathways and using outcome measures
  • Experience of organising and implementing training programmes for therapists, MDT members, support workers, students and apprentices
  • Experience of service development/change management
  • Experience in implementing evidence based practice in speciality
  • Experience of on-call and weekend working in an acute hospital (if required for job role)


Desirable

  • Previous Band 7 or equivalent experience in relevant post
  • Leadership of a therapy team
  • Recent, relevant work in an NHS environment
  • Experience of using clinical governance framework to monitor and improve quality of patient care
  • Clinical research experience
  • Experience of planning and managing service improvement activities
