Fulltime (37.5 hours) or part time (26.25 hours/7 sessions). Flexible working considered.

Based at GIDS Leeds (LS1 2LH)

The Gender Identity Development Service for Children and Adolescents (GIDS) is seeking creative and thoughtful clinicians to join us in our work supporting young people who are exploring their gender identity.

GIDS has two main centres in London and Leeds, with regional teams in Bristol and Birmingham and an outreach clinic in Exeter.

Main duties of the job

GIDS is currently going through a period of transformation, which makes this an ideal time to join for someone who wants to contribute to service development and help to share our future as a world-leading specialist service. We are working hard to ensure there is excellent engagement with all staff across the service and our service users.

Candidates should have experience in a relevant work setting, including experience with young people who present with a high level of complexity and require skilled and multi-layered assessments and intervention. Whilst some experience of working with children and adolescents presenting with gender dysphoria is desirable, the capacity to work sensitively and appropriately within a client and professional group, with diverse gender identity, sexuality, and of ethnically diverse backgrounds is essential.

If you are interested in our work and joining our team, we look forward to hearing from you. We embrace and value diversity and would welcome applications from all backgrounds and experiences.

If you would like an informal discussion about the position, please do get in touch by emailinggids@tavi-port.nhs.uk, stating your discipline and referenceBand 7 Leeds, and a member of the senior team will get back to you as soon as possible.
