DSFS Ltd are seeking to recruit a successful candidate into the position of Head of Income. The role will lead on all matters relating to Chesterfield Royal Hospital FT's income, including NHS Payment System and contracts and non-patient care income. This will be achieved through building and maintaining excellent working relationships with internal and external colleagues.
The role will provide support to the clinical and corporate divisions and will support the head of financial management in reporting and monitoring the Trusts patient care and non patient care income. The trust has over 5,000 members of staff and has an income budget of circa �365m.
A key member of the finance team with responsibility for ensuring all processes and procedures are in place to provide the Trust with relevant, accurate and timely management information concerning financial and activity performance to support with financial viability and achievement of targets.

Main duties of the job
1. Provide leadership to the wider finance function including a proactive approach.
2. Manage the preparation and agreement of annual income budgets for specified the trust and maintain accurate records of all budget setting and budget movements.
3. Manage the preparation and provision of accurate and timely information by the production of integrated financial and activity reports. Ensure quality assurance controls are in place for key outputs.
4. Responsible for the monitoring and forecasting of financial income performance on a monthly basis, incorporating the use of activity statistics where appropriate, and by applying relevant management accounting techniques.
5. Proactively investigate variances and provide analytical reports on areas specifically requested by the Divisional Finance Partner or Head of Financial Management.
6. To drive forward progress on the development of robust and meaningful integrated financial information i.e. Service Line Reporting and supporting Patient Level Costing. Ensure clinical engagement in the process.
7. Lead the process for reviewing and updating cost allocation, apportionment, and absorption in support of both Reference Costs and Patient Level Costing.
