The Evaluation and Insights team supports health and care teams across our region to understand the impact of introducing innovations. Work can take a variety of forms, such as rapid insight generation, evidence synthesis, mixed methods service evaluation and health economic analysis. We also support the real-world validation of innovations to understand their impact on patients, staff and the healthy economy to understand the potential value of their wider adoption.
The Associate Director for Evaluation & Insights will strategically lead and enhance our approach to Evaluation and Insights, ensuring that we can understand the impact of our work, influence action and share best practice. This is a senior role working as part of HIWE's wider leadership team and will lead the development of enhanced insight and analytical approaches we adopt to inform programme delivery and impact monitoring to increase the impact and the achievement of our new 5-year mission. The post holder will oversee the work of our Evaluation and Insights team, ensuring excellence and supporting individual and team development.

The post holder will lead a defined set of evaluation and insights activity to have real impact on health and healthcare by supporting our partnership to gather insights on how and why solutions are successful, articulate impact and understand what innovation to scale.
Key responsibilities include:
- To collaborate with HIWE's wider integrated care, health innovation and research systems, (for example the NIHR Applied Research Collaborative) in the design and delivery of evaluation and insight activity and implementation strategy
- To lead the delivery and growth of a pipeline of evaluation and insights activity (in line with HIWE's business development ambitions), securing funding from a range of funders, and collaborating with our diverse and multi-disciplinary stakeholder communities
- To lead and oversee the team growth and delivery activity to enhance the insights tools and approaches, ensuring they meets the needs of the organisation and evolving these over time
- To work closely with HIWE's discovery, development and deployment teams to demonstrate impact of our work
- To work closely with HIWE teams to ensure meaningful patient and public involvement and community engagement is embedded in our evaluation methods and processes, in line with our new 5-year strategy
- To advocate the appropriate use of data and insight to drive improvement and innovation
- To lead on the delivery of business development activity relating to HIWE's evaluation and insights function
