We are looking for a Independent Domestic and Sexual Violence Advisor (IDSVA), to provide support to victims of domestic violence and/or abuse presenting at theRoyal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust (RUH).
The IDSVA will work within an experienced safeguarding team and play a vital role in providing expert advice around domestic abuse and violence, working closely alongside staff providing support, education and training.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for delivering domestic violence and abuse agenda and processes across the Trust. They will work within a multi-agency framework consisting of Multi-agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARAC) and local partnership responses to domestic abuse. To support, signpost and refer to relevant clinical partnerships.
Provide one-to-one support to patients who have experience of domestic violence or abuse (men and women) presenting at the Trust, Sexual Health department and associated Birthing Centres, prioritising those who are at medium to high risk of harm.
Complete risk assessments and safety plans, agree referral and care pathways, and provide appropriate support to patients as required.
Signpost patients to range of services and arrange meetings with other agencies/services as necessary.
Act as the first point of contact for referrals and provide staff with guidance and support with referrals.
Participate in Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARACs) framework in BaNES and Wiltshire refer patients to attend and participate in meetings, follow up on actions agreed in MARACs as necessary.
