We are looking for a Band 5 Specialist Podiatrist to work within Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust.You will join one of the largest and forward-thinking Podiatry teams in the country. We are looking for a highly motivated and professional HCPC registered Podiatrist to provide high qualitypodiatric care for patients with pathological foot conditions and those individuals at risk of developing serious foot health complications.You will have excellent clinical skills to deliver a range of Podiatry treatments for our patients in Kent. Working with the local team to ensure service provisions within the team are run effectivelyand efficiently.Upon joining our team, you will receive a comprehensive induction programme. As well as this we offer our own preceptorship package covering all aspects of peer review, clinical supervision,support and mentoring. A competency programmes is used for staff to ensure all work is to a high clinical standard which can lead to future opportunities for career development into a chosenspecialist area which can be supported within the service.Podiatry embraces new ways of working including virtual consultations, group sessions and technology. Main duties of the job

The clinician will effectively record all patient interventions, offer support, advice and guidance to Band 5 podiatrists, podiatry assistants, students and administration staff wherever they areworking. The post holder must work effectively as part of the podiatry team/department and use good communication skills at all times.This role will develop the clinician with the qualities required for treatment planning, assessment, diagnosis, implementation and evaluation of podiatric care to a variety of patients.Supporting personal and people development by engaging in own supervision and appraisal process, demonstrating commitment to continuous professional development

Person Specification

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • Degree or equivalent in Podiatric Medicine
  • HCPC registration
  • Diabetic Foot Module or willingness to successfully complete.
  • Completion of post-graduate 'induction' training
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD)


EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Proven record of providing high quality podiatric care for high risk patients and using biomechanical skills to provide effective chair side and prescribed orthotics


KNOWLEDGE

Essential

  • Clinical Governance and professional standards Health & Safety roles and responsibilities for clinical practice


SKILLS & ABILITIES

Essential

  • Highly developed manual dexterity and clinical skills
  • Ability to provide clear, concise written and verbal information to colleagues, patients and external contacts
  • Interpersonal skills to work effectively within a team
  • Computer literacy to enable use of email/inputting accurate patient records at speed
  • Ability to work alone and under pressure if required
