An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead the North Derbyshire Children's Community Continence Service on a 12-month fixed term post, secondments may also be considered.We are a small friendly team which is the lead provider for the Countywide Continence Service who supports children and young people aged 4-19 years in the community to achieve their continence potential.

We are looking for a Service Lead to drive the service forward whilst making a difference to children and young people's incontinence needs.

The successful candidate will be a children's registered nurse who has a passion for leadership and continence within the community for children and young people and their families. Applicants need to possess excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills whilst working independently and as part of a team.

Main duties of the job

Provide strong, professional leadership working in partnership to enhance professional standards of care across the service linking in with primary, secondary and tertiary care as appropriate.

Overall responsibility for the care of a caseload of patients requiring specialist advice as appropriate, accept referrals from other healthcare professionals and work unsupervised.

Through demonstration of high levels of clinical expertise and practice, work collaboratively with members of the multi-disciplinary team (MDT), divisional care unit and others to review and plan services which are responsive, cost effective and evidence based.

It would be desirable to have an expert level of clinical decision making through specialist assessment and interpretation of clinical information to support patients and carers who have complex and/or changing physical symptoms, emotional or practical needs.
