The primary focus for the post holder will be leading on the day-to-day delivery of and working with patients accessing treatment on the Eating Disorders Intensive Community Treatment unit (EDICT). This day service operates 9.30-4.30pm Monday to Friday to support patients within the community. The post holder will also contribute to, and is part of, the broader community team. The vision for the service is for the pathways to integrate and for staff to work across them all.
There is considerable current focus on and investment in eating disorders services, as supported by the Mental Health Investment Standard. The vision is to transform the eating disorders service and this is part of a national vision, with many initiatives and much support within the East of England region. We are closely aligned with the Specialist Eating Disorder Unit (SEDU) beds within the Provider Collaborative in region.

- 2 years post registration experience working in the mental health field
- Understanding responsibilities under the Care programme Approach, Mental Capacity Act, Clinical Governance, Risk Assessment and Child Protection Legislation
- Ability to analyse and present complex information to professional colleagues

Person Specification Education/ qualifications Essential
- Registered Nurse - Mental Health
- Qualification at degree level or relevant experience
- 2 years post registration experience in mental Health
- Understanding of responsibilities under the Mental Health Act 1983
- Understanding responsibilities under the Care programme Approach, Mental Capacity Act, Clinical Governance, Risk Assessment and Child Protection Legislation
- Evidence of continuing professional/personal development2
- Knowledge of community mental health services
- Knowledge of physical & psychological aspects of eating disorders
- Evidence of co-ordinating care for a group of patients
- Evidence of personal leadership skills
- Experience of working with people with eating disorders
- Skills in working with ambivalence to change
