  • The post holder will be working as a newly qualified Speech and Language Therapist within the Paediatric team in Community Clinic Service for pre school and school aged children with speech, language and communication delay/disorders.
  • The post holder will hold and clinically manage a caseload of children across two community clinics (The Kingsley Centre in Southend and Hadleigh Clinic)
  • We have a robust clinical supervision hierarchy in our service to provide both clinical and managerial supervision within a friendly and supportive team. We encourage staff to access clinical development through support to join clinical excellence networks and on the job shadowing of more experienced staff across a range of specialist areas.


Main duties of the job

  • The post holder will work closely with colleagues in Children's Young Peoples and Families Services across Southend and Essex Community Services.


  • The post holder will provide an appropriate Speech and Language Therapy Service for children with a range of speech, language and communication difficulties as expected to the level of a newly qualified practitioner. You will be managing two community clinic caseloads with the support of a senior member of the Speech and Language Therapy Team


  • The post holder will work as part of the Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy Service providing speech and language therapy across South East Essex, contributing to the development of the Speech and Language Therapy Service within Essex Partnership University Foundation Trust


  • The post holder will develop their specialist skills in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of children with speech, language and communication difficulties

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
  • Relevant RCSLT recognized degree which gives licence to practice as an SLT
Desirable
  • HCPC registration or evidence that registration has been applied for
Experience Essential
  • Experience of working with children with speech, language and communication delay/disorder from clinical placement
Desirable
  • Evidence of observation of work with children/young people with speech, language, communication delay/disorder without direct experience
