An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within Bradford and District Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services. We are seeking to recruit a number of professionally qualified practitioners to further develop and grow our community CAMHS team service.

You will be working in a community based multi-disciplinary team delivering a service to children, young people and their families in a supportive and lively team, where differences in training are respected and valued. You will have the opportunity to play a significant role in the leadership delivery of a modernised and comprehensive service.

Main duties of the job

  • Job Purpose:



  • To contribute to the development and provision of services to children and young people with complex mental health needs. This will include assessing, planning and delivering care packages both within groups and also individually and working as part of a multidisciplinary team.

    Job description Job responsibilities

  • Main duties:
    • To build close working relationships and networks within the Directorate and with other agencies in order to develop an efficient and effective multidisciplinary assessment and therapeutic response to children young people families and carers.
    • To make a comprehensive assessment (including risk assessment) identifying needs, based on the interpretation of complex facts and information. To then decide upon the appropriate action
    • To plan, implement and evaluate care to a defined caseload of children and young people using NICE guidelines and evidence based interventions
    • To develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with children, young people, their families and carers who may at times be in situations of emotional distress.
    • To provide a flexible approach to children young people their families and carers who may have difficulties engaging with services.
    • Communicate effectively with patients, relatives/carers and colleagues from diverse backgrounds in a manner that is sensitive, open, welcoming and person-ce
    • Use IT systems effectivel
    • Maintain accurate, up to date clinical records in accordance with Trust policy.
      • Provide clinical leadership to the Assistant Psychological Therapists.
      • Delegate tasks to staff within their competency and ensure that the delegation/escalation process forms part of the culture of the service.

    5. Managing Self
    • Participate in regular management and clinical supervision.
    • Participate in appraisal annually, developing and agreeing your development plan with your line manager using the Trust appraisal and KSF process.
    • Responsible for identifying areas for own professional development.
    • Attend all mandatory training.
    • Maintain registration as a qualified health professional.
    • Carry out duties with due regard to the Trusts Equal Opportunity Policy.
    • Comply with all Trust policies, procedures and protocols.
    • Pay regard to materials and equipment.
    • Maintain a professional appearance.
  • Staff Supervision and Support
    • Provide support to your direct reports and team members around their personal health and wellbeing.
    • To contribute to the multi-disciplinary staff meetings, professional debates and seminars, discussing clinical work, sharing knowledge and experiences and participating in training.
    • Create, maintain and enhance effective working relationships and networks with colleagues within and external to the directorate.
    • To contribute to effective communication and working relationships with other disciplines and organisations.
  • Safeguarding

  • All staff members have a duty to report any concerns they have about the safety or well being of adult service users, members of their families, including children. Employees should be aware of their roles & responsibilities to both prevent and respond appropriately to abuse. They should undertake the safeguarding training required for their particular role.

    The Covid-19 vaccination remains the best line of defence against Covid-19 to protect individuals, colleagues, patients, and communities, and the Trust encourages staff to take up the offer of being fully vaccinated. Please note all staff members who are working in healthcare premises, working with patients/service users and/or undertaking patient/service user visits will be required to take a twice weekly Lateral Flow Test, and to produce evidence of their negative test result on request.

    Person Specification Qualifications Essential
    • Registered Mental Nursing Certificate (RMN) Current Registration on part 3 or part 13 of NMC register.
    • Or Occupational Therapist registration HPC
    Desirable
    • ENB 998 or other teaching certificate.
    • Qualified psychological therapist
    Experience Essential
    • Experience in relevant area of mental health practice.
    • Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team, e.g. CMHT
    Desirable
    • Involvement in innovative clinical practice.
    • Clinical leadership experience.
