Interviews to be held Saturday 21st September 2024

Are you a skilled and enthusiastic CT Radiographer looking to make a big impact? We are looking for experienced and hardworking staff to support our brand new state of the art Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) at Milford, Surrey.

The CDC is part of Royal Surrey's continuing investment in its diagnostic capabilities and follows refurbishment of the Trust's interventional suite, MRI and X-ray facilities.

The role will be rotational between the new CDC and our busy District General Hospital in Guildford, which boasts a leading Cancer Centre and a minimal invasive Cardiac Unit offering both Cardiac MRI and CT.

Our band 6 rotation at Royal Surrey County Hospital (RSCH) will include CT and plain film imaging along with the opportunity to rotate through interventional imaging, fluoroscopy and the Cardiac Catheter lab. When based at the CDC you will be working exclusively in CT alongside a multidisciplinary team of Superintendent radiographers, MRI radiographers, RDAs and admin staff as well as consultants and radiologists.

Main duties of the job

IV cannulation and Red Dot courses will be encouraged as standard for this post. Opportunities for CPD are well supported and all radiographers are expected to contribute to the training of our students.

We have an established radiographer led CT colonography service and have seven qualified reporting advanced practitioners including three chest reporting. We have a number of our radiographers on advanced practice pathways including reporting and leadership courses.

The main department at RSCH comprises three general rooms, a two room A+E department, MRI, ultrasound department, digital fluoroscopy, Interventional suite, maxillo-facial unit and two Hologic tomosynthesis units. We have four CT scanners: a Siemens Somatom, a GE Frontier, GE Revolution and GE Evolution. At the CDC we have a brand new GE Ascend CT scanner as well as two brand new Siemens Magneton MRI scanners (3T Vida and 1.5T Sola.)

Our Diagnostic Strategy includes expanding our services and resources of both staff and equipment within this hospital and in the community, which will in turn support career progression of our staff.
