University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to offer a fantastic opportunity to work with us.

Please see below for a detailed job description of the role.

Main duties of the job

As an experienced CAD / BIM Technician, you will work as part of a specialist team delivering accurate and meaningful graphical information to the Estates, Facilities and Capital Development Department (EFCD) and wider UHS team (clinical & non-clinical), thereby ensuring patient and staff safety throughout the Hospital.

Our data sources are many and varied. From handwritten annotation to 3D BIM data delivered to recognised standards (PAS1192 and BS EN ISO19650), the role requires you to interrogate the data, seek clarification from our teams and deliver high quality results in a timely manner.

We expect you to be fluent in using the day-to-day supporting technologies, such as SharePoint and Office365, but also the many specialist packages for the management of people, places and data. We use Autodesk products (AutoCAD and Revit in particular), Graphisoft ArchiCAD, MICAD, Planet and other facilities management/work management systems.

You will be expected to undertake regular mandatory training for your own safety, and that of our patients and staff. UHS is a teaching hospital which provides many opportunities for relevant personal development.

About us

As one of the largest acute teaching Trusts in England, we offer learning and development opportunities to help you achieve the career you aspire to.

Specific to this role is the suitability for agile working which is a mixture of on-site and remote working. In addition, we are open to discussing flexibility in the hours that you work. Please talk to us at the interview about the flexibility you need, and we will explore what's possible for the role and service. UHS employees can access a range of NHS discounts, are entitled to a minimum of 35 days paid holiday (pro rata), and we offer a generous pension scheme.

Southampton is an attractive place to live and work situated on the south coast, with an international airport and direct trains to London. The New Forest National Park and beaches of the Jurassic coast are also right on our doorstep. The city offers living costs 20% lower than London and 14 schools rated outstanding by Ofsted
