If you are keen to have everyone in mental health ask ‘What happened to you?’ rather than ‘What’s wrong with you?’ then we have an amazing opportunity! Here at HPFT we have a long history of delivering outstanding care, and we now want to take our inpatient psychological therapies service to the next level. We are expanding our psychology provision within adult mental health inpatient settings including the development of trauma informed approaches.
We are looking for a caring and committed Clinical Psychologist to work alongside the multi-disciplinary team. If you are energetic, imaginative and, above all, care passionately about working with individuals and their families towards recovery, then we want to hear from you! As part of our commitment to staff development we are offering this post as development from Band 7 to 8a once agreed competencies have been met. We would also consider offering this post as an 8a to the right candidate.
You will form part of a vibrant and growing HPFT psychology team within Acute Services. We have a range of clinicians including Assistant Psychologists, Clinical Associate Psychologists, and qualified Clinical/Counselling Psychologists ranging from Band 7 to 8c. This gives really opportunity for professional growth and development within the service.
The role is based across two sites, Lister Hospital (Aston Ward, Stevenage) and Albany Lodge (St Albans). These are both stand-alone adult mental health inpatient units offering treatment for both men and women. Psychology is highly valued and sought after in these units. This is a varied role with opportunities to offer individual work, group work, family interventions and training. It provides fantastic opportunity to develop and expand your existing clinical skills. All work is underpinned by recovery principles and Trauma Informed Care.
Close to London, Hertfordshire is a great place to work, and we have strong links with the local University and Recovery College. We regularly take trainee Clinical Psychologists on placements. We are very keen to support applicants from our local communities, and who represent our local demographics. We are committed to ensuring that HPFT strives to be an equal, less discriminatory and inclusive trust. We believe that we can only achieve this through specific actions focused on diversity, equality and inclusion, acting against inequality, discrimination and injustice. This includes recruitment.
