It has often been said, ‘How nice it would be to be able to choose your family members’…..……………well now you can! We are less a pick and mix of MDT colleagues that have been pulled together in the workplace and more akin to a family that have chosen to work and grow together. This lovely team will give you all the nurture and support of a well-established group that makes secure connections enabling you to continue to develop in both your professional career and homelife. Retirement has opened up an opportunity for a systemic family therapist to come and join us as the team await expectantly for the news of a new arrival. We hope it will be you.

Area

We are nestled in the stunning chalky Wiltshire folds atop the hill beside the 4500-acre Savernake Forest which hosts 1000-year-old trees. The team is based at the small friendly community hospital in the vibrant market town of Marlborough which boasts all amenities, great shopping, wonderful places to eat and a very nice independent ‘art house’ cinema. The hospital provides lunch facilities for both cooked food, sandwiches and a shop that provides a wide selection of tempting sweets and chocolate. At different times of the year, the drive to work can be spectacular, the traffic negligible and the parking is abundant and FREE, making this location attractive to people living in Wiltshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire.

Team

Our bijou team are a very happy bunch of people who enjoy their work and are very generous of spirit. You would definitely pick them for your netball team, and I would describe them as a group of compassionate individuals who collectively provide an outstanding service delivering the iThrive model as part of the wider BSW service. We comprise a wide variety of professionals including an art therapist and provide evidence-based interventions to young people and their family/carers. Within working hours, we love to laugh together. We have lots of amazingly talented and generous bakers who adorn the kitchen table with delicious wares, we like to lunch together in the summer (weather permitting) and our week is always rounded off with our eagerly awaited lovely office managers witty and thought-provoking Friday email. Outside of work, we walk in the forest (green tunics and pointy boots are optional), try to get to the cinema and of course there is the local pub, which offers very nice food. There is a welcoming and wholesome culture to this team that can be difficult to find and when you find it, you will know that this is where you want to be.

Organisation

Oxford Health encourages a good working culture that enables staff to thrive and tackles tough issues and there are regular opportunities to ask our chief executive questions in person and to be actively involved in service development. There have been several service developments that supplement our core CAMHS team which host a discretely integrated Eating Disorder Service (TEDS), a Neurodevelopmental service (NDC) and LD CAMHS augmented with extended hours crisis intervention and a safety net of 24-hour cover for emergencies.

New horizons

We are seeking a systemic family therapist who will be based predominantly within the core CAMHS and The Eating Disorder Service (TEDS) that will invigorate us with their own thoughts and ideas whilst simultaneously integrating into the team. This is an exciting time to be part of a dynamic service that is responsive and growing to meet local demand. We are very interested in the Multi-family Therapy model and would welcome innovative ideas that could improve our service and help you make this post your own. You will have access to, regular planned clinical and management supervision and professional development opportunities.

So now you have the BATON………………………………………………………….…………..……it’s over to you.
