Under the leadership of our occupational therapy directors we support over 150 Occupational Therapists.

Working together as a large team we provide support to each other across the group, with the opportunity to be part of specialist interest groups & become involved in service development.

Every service line has a clinical lead occupational therapist to lead and develop evidence based practice and agreed occupational therapy pathway.

We ensure our occupational therapists have a voice through participating in service model development, utilising the expertise and support of our clinical lead occupational therapists

Main duties of the job

Cygnet hospital Derby consists of three wards. Alvaston ward is a 14-bed low secure ward which specialises in the care of females diagnosed with a personality disorder. Litchurch ward specialises in low secure male mental health and has 15 beds. Wyvern ward specialised in male mental health and is a 19-bed high dependency rehabilitation unit. The successful applicant for this position will be expected to maintain a caseload working on one of these wards alongside a therapy coordinator or occupational therapy assistant.

Service Line:Mental Health Forensic & Low Secure (male)

Occupational Therapy Preceptorship & Induction:

We understand the pandemic has brought with it challenging times, and we recognise this may have had an impact on some of your placement experiences. We offer an Occupational Therapy 12 month preceptorship programme to support and consolidate core Occupational Therapy Skills.
