An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, qualified radiographer to join the Imaging leadership team and support the delivery of the service. This role is suited to a senior radiographer who has experience in management or is keen to make that next step into Leadership. You would be responsible for the day-to-day organisation, management, supervision and training of clinical staff in Digital Radiography.

Successful candidates will provide a high quality service to adults, children and young people using best practice at all times promoting a positive patient experience. They will experience a broad spectrum of imaging techniques. Applicants will be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work within the multi-disciplinary team. You will be expected to participate in the 7-day shift system covering out-of-hours service including nights, weekends and bank holidays.

Promotion of service and Imaging standards

Completion of rosters (Weekly/shift/bank lockdown)

Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS) duties

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • *General science based education to GCSE and A level with a minimum of 1 science based A level or equivalent.
  • *D.C.R. (R) or BSc Diagnostic Radiography
  • *HCPC Radiographer Registration


Desirable

  • *Post Graduate qualification / Master's degree and/or relevant experience


Experience

Essential

  • *Broad range of radiographic experience at a senior level
  • *Experience of managing a staff group at a senior level
  • *Evidence of role extension
  • *Evidence of delivering education & training
  • *Comprehensive understanding of the requirements of IR (ME) R 2017 and associated legislation


Desirable

  • *Some experience of budgetary management
  • *An understanding of the principles of the development and modernisation of the NHS, particularly in relation to imaging and the education of the healthcare workforce


Additional Criteria

Essential

  • *Self-motivated, can work independently, good judgement skills, punctual & reliable, compassionate
  • *Positive application of the radiographers code of conduct
  • *Cross site working when required to meet service needs


Desirable

  • *Independent approach to problem solving and able to demonstrate ability to provide innovative solutions
  • *Courteous conduct in difficult/contentious situations
