Team Leader - Children's Intensive Support Team (IST) Band 7

Base Wayside House, Wilsons Lane Coventry but will be required to travel across Coventry and Warwickshire

37 hours - In order to support families at key times, some work may be required outside of usual office hours. Part time hours will be considered

The Childrens Intensive Support Team is undergoing a service transformation and an exciting opportunity has arisen for an Operational Team Leader to provide consistent and aligned leadership for the team.

Main duties of the job

The post presents as an ideal opportunity for someone who holds a keen interest in leadership with a desire to champion good quality service deliver ensuring a positive patient experience for children with complex mental health difficulties with a learning disability/autism at risk of a tier 4 admission.

We are seeking to appoint an individual with a professional registration relevant to the role, to provide efficient, dedicated and compassionate operational management and leadership to the day to day running of the Childrens Intensive Support Team.

The successful candidate will provide strong and effective leadership to the teams working closely with the service manager to provide operational leadership and promote the vision and values of CWPT.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Professional, compassionate leadership, management and mentorship supporting staff through regular management supervision, team meetings and annual appraisals.

Establish an effective working relationship with colleagues from the multi-disciplinary team across the services and the wider organisation.

Development and improvement of pathways for children with Autism/learning disability presenting in crisis and those who can be supported via admission avoidance.

Identification of support and development needs of all staff through discussion, management supervision and appraisals arranging any mentoring or training required for the identified individual.

Being responsible for developing and maintaining high quality standards of patient centred care.

Develop and maintain a communications strategy with the service to ensure staff are kept up to date with initiatives at service level, directorate level and Trust wide and ensure that the views of the service are fed up to the Senior Leadership Team.
