Specialist Dietitian - Oncology
Are you a dietitian with broad range of clinical experience and an interest in working within oncology? We are delighted to advertise a new and excitingopportunity for a Permanent 1.0 W.T.E. (37.5hours/ week) Specialist Oncology Dietitian on the City Campus at Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH) NHS Trust.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will manage an Oncology caseload within the General Oncology pathway providing dietetic advice and treatment to a shared caseload ofinpatient and outpatients with cancer diagnosis (including but not limited to Gynae-Oncology, HPB and Lung). You will support complex nutritional interventions, as well as nutrition support and enteral feeding, so experience in these areas would be beneficial. You will be involved with radiotherapy clinics, Dietetic led telephone clinics as well as training and education for patients and healthcare professionals within the service. The dietetic team have become established as core members of the multi-disciplinary team, working collaboratively with consultants and specialist nurses to deliver high quality nutritional care to patients.
With the support of Clinical Lead Dietitians, there is the opportunity to be involved in dietetic audit, service development and research, alongside potential opportunities to work and gain experience across all Oncology services at NUH (not only within the General Oncology team but also Haematology, Head & Neck, Upper GI). You will need to have excellent communication skills, a flexible approach and the ability to manage your own time and workload within a supportive team.
This job will require you to work with inpatients, therefore you will be required to wear the appropriate level of PPE.
