An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time Tissue Viability Specialist Nurse based in Brent. A vacancy has been generated due to promotion and the successful post holder will provide assessment and advice relating to complex wound care management.

Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust is responsible for delivering Community Adult Services across Brent.

It is an exciting time to join out Brent Tissue Viability Specialist Nursing Service as we continue to build upon existing models and introduce new ways of working.

Our transformation plan over the next 12 months will include further integration with primary care, planned and unplanned care models and a greater emphasis on population health.

Main duties of the job

We require a Tissue Viability Specialist Nurse with experience of working with adults' patients managing complex wounds.

You must be keen to learn and to develop your assessment and treatment skills and knowledge.

You must be well organised with good communication skills.

Being a team player who can work as part of a multidisciplinary team is also essential to this role as well operate autonomously.

Education/Qualification

Essential

  • Registered Nurse with current UK NMC registration
  • Leg Ulcer management / Tissue Viability or Equivalent


Desirable

  • Teaching and training
  • Ability to work with and lead others across profession
  • Community nursing qualification experience of working in primary care


Experience

Essential

  • Significant post graduate
  • Experience in Tissue Viability
  • Evaluation and audit experience


Desirable

  • Experience in undertaking research application of research to practice


Skills and Knowledge

Essential

  • Advanced nursing skills in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patients with Tissue Viability needs
  • Experience in working with patients and professionals to prevent and Treat pressure ulcers
  • Experience in working with patients and professional in leg ulcer management
  • Ability to organise and motivate self and others
  • Independent decision making with appropriate reference to others
  • Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written forms
  • A record of personal/professional development that shows progression
  • Critical appraisal
  • Working knowledge of present NHS policies and direction
  • Understanding current issues and challenges within health care delivery in Inner London and in the wider NHS
  • Some knowledge and understanding of quality improvement, clinical governance principles application in clinical setting
  • Experience of Microsoft office

  • Evidence of involvement in benchmarking, testing services
