Static Band 6 physiotherapist on the trauma wards
This post will continue to deliver the successful day zero initiative on the trauma wards. It will involve working 4 long days but will still be 37.5 hours in total.
Do you want to be a Static Inpatient Trauma MSK Physiotherapist? Why not consider a post at NUH?
The posts received excellent feedback from our current Band 6's such as:
Very likely to recommend- good for improving non clinical 6 skills such as supervision and projects. Also beneficial in developing MSK ward skills, clinical treatment skills acutely and awareness of whole patient pathway process
Really good team for any band 5/6 to join and gain experience and definitely learnt a lot!
We recognize that prospective staff may not have had the breadth of experience at Band 5 level in the past 2 years due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and can offer successful applicants an enhanced support package to start with. We would therefore welcome applications from staff with less experience than usual.
As an Acute Trust, you will be required to work regular weekends (currently, for full time staff this is around 1 in 4 weekends - one day only) in orthopedic areas. Respiratory on call duties will not routinely be expected, unless the successful applicant has the ability to carry these out - so don't let a lack of respiratory skills put you off applying!
Main duties of the job
NUH is an exciting place to work and will be able to offer you training opportunities ( both clinical and leadership courses that may be internal and/or external to NUH), the experience of working with highly skilled ESP staff and expose you to the world of research and the potential to work with clinical academics to enhance evidence based care.
Staff will be responsible for a diverse and complex clinical case load. Rotations include ED, fracture clinic, spines, OP, gym, trauma, in-patient spines, elective orthopedics, staff occupational physio team, Burns and Plastics, shoulder unit and the treatment centre. All rotations have access to consultants and you will be expected to work collaboratively across the MDT with a wide range of health care professionals
