Cheshire and Wirral Partnership Foundation NHS Trust are seeking an Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Adult ID services at East Cheshire (Macclesfield and Crewe).
The post holder would provide Consultant Psychiatrist input to East Cheshire Community Learning Disability team. There is also support from a full time core trainee (CT2 or 3) and a WTE speciality doctor.
The team is based in Rosemount, Macclesfield and supports people to lead full and healthy lives within the local community. They also provide specialist information, advice and training for family carers and support staff. There is an Intensive Support Service with a focus on providing input to those with Mental Health/Challenging Behaviour with risk of placement breakdown.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide psychiatric input to adults with learning disabilities of 18 years and older living in Cheshire East. The post holder will be a key member of the Cheshire East Community Learning Disability team based at Rosemount. Out-patient clinic facilities will be at community settings in Rosemount site at Macclesfield and at Crewe.
It is also expected that psychiatric assessment, advice and liaison will be given in a variety of community locations. The post holder is expected to carry out assessments of complex cases and support development of multi-disciplinary management plans.
The consultant will have access to adult Intellectual disability assessment and treatment beds at Eastways and Greenways units as well as general adult beds within CWP if appropriate and in liaison with Consultant colleagues.
The consultant will be expected to work in close liaison with the wider community health teams, social services teams, provider services, and other statutory and voluntary agencies.

Provide clinical leadership to the team.
Provide consultation and input in Care plan and treatment formulation, guidance on evidence-based treatment and effectiveness.
Ensure liaison and collaborative working with other services/agencies.
Ensure appropriate implementation of duties under the Mental Health Act.
Ensure multi-disciplinary, multi-agency and partnership working.

- Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
- Included on the GMC Specialist Register OR within six months
- Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment
- Approved under S12 OR able to achieve with 3 months of appointment

- In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice
Qualifications

- MbChB, MBBS or equivalent
- Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent
- A CCT in Psychiatry of Intellectual Disability or the candidate is within 6 months of completing their CCT
- Registered with the Royal College of Psychiatrists for CPD or willing to apply for such

- Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.
