We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated physiologist to manage Neurophysiology department and to lead in the development of Neurophysiology Services. This is an exciting time to join as we are continually striving to improve services.We are seeking a motivated individual to help develop neurological services. In particular we are looking for an individual(s) who may help develop and deliver an outpatient programme that will create a responsive, flexible outpatient service that meets the changing needs of our local population in the context of the evolving healthcare landscape.
Main duties of the job
o Provide a comprehensive range of routine and highly specialised neurophysiological investigations (NCS/EEG), including non-routine and complex procedures on adults.o Analyse a range of routine and complex investigations, including preparation of a full technical report of the findings. The report may include a clinical opinion on selected investigations, according to departmental guidelines.o Provide highly specialist advice to other healthcare professionals across the trusto Participate in the training and assessment of undergraduate and postgraduate student healthcare scientists and other healthcare professionals.o Participate in audit and R& D programmes regularly.o Work collaboratively on a day to day basis with others to ensure that the service needs are met.

Assist in maintaining clear lines of communication, both within the team and with external agencies, including patients and their families.
Communicate test information and requirements to patients who may have sensory, physical or learning disabilities as well as their relatives & carers.
Exchange and explain specialist information with colleagues from around the trust being mindful that the test results will affect the treatment pathway.
Be able to deal with patient complaints in a calm and professional manner.

- Be able to work as part of the intraoperative neuro-monitoring team contributing to difficult decision making at critical moments.
- Analyse a range of routine and complex investigations, including preparation of a full technical report of the findings. The report may include a clinical opinion on selected investigations, according to departmental guidelines.
- Provide highly specialist advice to other healthcare professionals across the trust
- Participate in the training and assessment of undergraduate and postgraduate student healthcare scientists and other healthcare professionals.

Essential
- BSc(Hons) Clinical Physiology (Neurophysiology) or equivalent.
- Professional registration
- Working at MSc level, educated through STP or equivalence (or working towards)
- Knowledge of complete range of Neurophysiological procedures, as described in the paragraphs above, acquired through specialist courses or training/experience to MSc level.
- Evidence of CPD
- Developed knowledge of a range of both standard and advanced Neurophysiological procedures, underpinned by procedural and theoretical knowledge and relevant practical experience.
Desirable
- 3 years post qualification experience within Neurophysiology
- Experience in collating and maintaining Statistical Data within a Clinical setting.
