An opportunity has arisen for highly motivated, suitably qualified staff to apply for the post of Advanced Specialist Biomedical Scientist within the department of Clinical Biochemistry at Wirral University Teaching Hospitals. The successful candidate will rotate around all areas of Clinical Biochemistry.
Full participation in the departmental shift rota will be required.

Main duties of the job
- Day to day management of a work area in either the automated section or the protein and referred investigation section. Co-ordinate, prioritise and allocate the work of the section so that staff and equipment are used efficiently
- Train, supervise and appraise staff
- Manage first line attendance management
- Maintain the quality of the work performed in the section
- Write, review and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Take the lead in their current section, liaising with the other Advanced Specialist Biomedical Scientists and the Biochemistry Manager
- Deputise for the Biochemistry Manager

- Experienced HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist with extensive experience in Clinical Biochemistry
- MSc or equivalent knowledge gained through experience and CPD
