Are you looking for a new challenge within a well-established Gynaecology department offering care across East Suffolk and North Essex? Are you ready to join an established Team providing a wide range of services in an ever developing field?

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to become a Gynaecology Nurse Specialist. You will need to be an enthusiastic and highly motivated experienced Gynaecology nurse. You will provide specialist knowledge, advice, information and education to patients, carers, health care professionals and relevant others within the scope of an established team. You will work closely with other gynaecology service providers within the Trust in particular the Pregnancy Advisory Service.

Main duties of the job

  • To work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure that a co-ordinated, comprehensive and cost effective service is provided for a diverse range of patients seen within clinics for predominantly Urogynaecological conditions.
  • To undertake nurse-led pessary clinics and manage a case-load of Urogynaecology patients
  • To work closely with the lead Urogynaecology CNS and Urogynaecology Consultant, contributing to service development and provision of a comprehensive service.
  • To support the pregnancy advisory service and undertake training to be able to consent patients requiring termination of pregnancy.
  • Assist in maintaining alongside the MDT an effective, streamlined and efficient service for patients under the care of ESNEFT.
  • To provide a highly developed standard of specialist care, knowledge, advice, information and education underpinned by theoretical knowledge and practical experience to patients, carers, healthcare professionals and relevant others.

Person Specification

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of management
  • Mentoring students and other professionals
  • Gynaecology nursing experience


Desirable

  • Specialised knowledge relevant to field of practice.
  • Enhanced role e.g. venepuncture, cannulation and ordering of investigations
  • Caring for patients having TOP, menorrhagia, gynaecology surgery
  • Evidence of working on Directorate/Trust groups to improve delivery/standards


Qualifications

Essential

  • oRegistered Nurse on Part 1 or 12 of the NMC register
  • oDiploma in Nursing Studies
  • oEvidence of continuing professional development through portfolio


Desirable

  • oRelevant Nursing degree or evidence of working towards mentorship
  • oGynaecology specialist course
  • oFamily planning qualification
