An exciting opportunity to join a two-year funded course for registered adult nurses to complete an MSc in Midwifery at Sheffield Hallam University.

The course is predominantly distance learning.50% of the course is spent in theory time, studying modules to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to become a registered midwife. The theory time is 80% distance learning (online), with 9 weeks spent on campus at Sheffield Hallam University, spread over the two years of the course, which will focus predominantly on clinical skills and in-person assessments. There are three modules in each year, assessed by a variety of assessment methods such as essays, exams, OSCE's, poster presentation, viva voce and a dissertation.

The remaining 50% of the course is spent in clinical placements at the student's employing Trust. Students will have placements in all midwifery settings, including community, labour ward and antenatal / postnatal wards. Students will be supported in placement by Practice Supervisors and Assessors, and Academic Assessors / Link Lecturers. Assessment in practice is via the national midwifery practice document, the Midwifery Ongoing Record of Achievement (MORA).
