Main duties of the job

The post holder will act as a Clinical Specialist Sonographer in either General or Obstetric Ultrasound and will work beyond the sphere of the sonographer. They will be regarded as a senior specialist sonographer with skills across certain specialised areas and the ability to scan and report autonomously in at least one specific field.

They will be able to demonstrate specialised knowledge and expertise to support the US consultant roles in service delivery. They will undertake both clinical (80%) and administrative (20%) duties and deputise for the Site/ Clinical Lead Sonographers when required. Administrative duties will be dedicated to research, audit, screening, education, preceptorship and leadership including teaching within the Radiology Academy and training of Sonographers within imaging and be dependent on service needs on a weekly basis.
