We are seeking a qualified and experienced FICM registered ACCP to join our service. This advanced role will provide expert clinical care to patients requiring level 1-3 care both inside and outside our critical care units. King's has an existing ACCP cadre drawn from nursing, paramedicine and physiotherapy who provide 24/7 support across the full range of critical care activity on the Denmark Hill Site. Applicants should be an experienced ACCP who is looking to join a large and dynamic team and who is excited to take advantage of all the benefits a tertiary referral centre has to offer.
Main duties of the job
Advanced Critical Care Practitioners work as part of a consultant lead multi-professional critical care service at King's and provide cutting edge critical care to patients both inside and out of the critical care unit. They are responsible on a day-to-day basis to the on call consultant intensivist responsible for the patient. Our services include critical care for neurosciences, cardiac, liver, haematology and major trauma as well as a wide range of medical and surgical specialities. The current team is aiming to expand to include rotation to the critical care services at the Princess Royal University Hospital.

Job responsibilities
To have up to date Critical Care clinical expertise to provide holistic patient assessment skills so that clinical decision-making leads to prompt and appropriate action in the best interests of the patient. Excellent verbal and written communication skills so that professional advice or care guidance and instructions are well understood by patients, their relatives and/or carers, and members of the multidisciplinary team. To perform physiological assessment of critically ill patients regardless of location and respond appropriately To ensure effective timely review and management of individual caseload of patients post Critical Care discharge or those patients referred by ward staff.
To evaluate and/ or collect information from the physiological assessment, patient history, diagnostic data and identify relevant problems. Use appropriate clinical decision making to initiate appropriate management / treatment according toagreed protocols and clinical judgement. To work competently in the role of Advanced Critical Care Practitioner, being aware of the boundaries of the role, referring patients appropriately to other healthcare professionals as required. Prescribe and administer a range of drugs as a Non-medical prescriber.
