We are excited to announce a new role in the Volunteering Team at The Rotherham Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
Job Summary
As a Meet and Greet Volunteer you will be the first point of contact for a patient, visitor and staff to the Trust and as such will be part of their overall impression and experience. This will be an integral role and it is important as a Meet and Greet volunteer to provide a friendly and courteous greeting, ensuring all enquiries and requests are responded to and that a high standard of service is maintained at all times.
The role will be physical. We are looking for Volunteers who are able to us on a regular basis throughout the year and who are willing to assist at short notice in covering rota gaps.
Volunteers must commit to at least 3 hours per week, for a minimum of 3 months.
Volunteering will place weekdays (Monday to Friday) mornings or afternoons, between the hours of 8am to 4pm.

All Volunteers will require a DBS check.
Dress code:
You will be issued with volunteer uniform, ID badge and lanyard which you must wear at all times to show that you are volunteering. All volunteers will be expected to follow our Dress code and Infection Protection and Control policies.

Main duties of the job
Main duties
- Be positioned in the main entrance, to Meet and Greet all patients, visitors and staff in a professional and friendly manner happy to help
- Assist anyone entering the hospital who appears to anxious or confused
- Escort or direct patients, visitors and staff patients to wards and departments
- Give directions to hospital departments and direct any general enquiries as appropriate
- Wheelchair assistance, obtain/assist/push wheelchair users within the hospital building (training will be provided)
- Supportive towards patients who may have additional challenges, such as sensory or physical impairment or a long-term condition
- Assist patients with self-check in machines (training will be provided)
- Assist patients/visitors with the carpark machines (training will be provided)
- To locate any unused wheelchairs from around the Hospital and return them to the main entrance
- To treat all information received with the strictest of confidentiality
- Provide information about hospital facilities
- Direct patients and visitors to the nearest hand gel station
- Provide face masks to any patient or visitor requesting them
