The Compliance and Risk Team is part of the Trust's Quality Governance Team. The Quality Governance Team is led and managed by the Deputy Chief Nurse Safety and Governance and sits within the portfolio of the Executive Chief Nurse but works closely with the Executive Medical Director, and other colleagues across the organisation.
The role of the Compliance and Risk Team is provide an infrastructure for the Trust's internal and external requirements in relation to statutory, regulatory, NHS and internal compliance particularly the Trust's Risk Management framework, Care Quality Commission fundamental standards and Key Line of Enquires. This includes developing and monitoring systems that provide quality improvement assurance.
Main duties of the job
Providing highly developed specialist skills, support and challenge to the teams whilst ensuring high standards of risk management are being met.
Following requests for thematic review, produce reports for discussion and scrutiny around groups of risks for consideration for the Corporate Risk Register.
Review and maintain the development of risk pending bay process to ensure senior sign off of individual risks takes place appropriately.
Works throughout the Trust to support clinical and non clinical teams to identify, record and manage risk, providing updates following actions to mitigate risk and re-score. Provides expert advice, guidance and updates in relation to risk management, as required and at all levels across the Trust.
Act as a key contact for external agencies re risk management and collate responses to any queries for sign off by Deputy Chief Nurse Safety and Governance or Executive Chief Nurse.
Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of any appropriate strategies and policies relating to risk management.
Using a variety of methods, deliver risk training to staff at all levels.
In partnership with the Systems analyst, ensure the ongoing development of the Ulysses risk management function with an eye on sustainability and future planning.
