Are you an experienced clinician looking for a new challenge and the opportunity to join a service at a time of exciting change? We are looking for applications from highly motivated and enthusiastic Consultant Psychologists who are committed to delivering patient-focused care and treatment and looking for applicants who either have experience in a leadership role with Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services or have a good foundation of transferable skills and an interest to develop in this area. We especially welcome applications from candidates with the valuable experience of the diverse social and cultural communities the Trust serves as we are seeking to ensure our psychology staffing has greater diversity and better represents local communities. The successful candidate will be supported to develop their career and flourish as a valued member of the psychology staff group, working closely with the Head of Therapies for CAMHS.

Main duties of the job

The Consultant Lead for Psychology role is a newly created post focusing on the development of the existing Psychology offer across CNWL Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). We are looking for a motivated and committed Psychologist who is passionate to lead the development of psychological therapies and the therapy pathways within a highly specialised psychology service to children, young people and their parents/carers/families across 5 London boroughs, comprising service users from diverse backgrounds. Each of these areas has its own local CAMHS team as well as specialised in patient units and urgent care provision. The successful postholder will supervise and work closely with Psychology Leads in each of these areas and be responsible for the good clinical governance, quality and appropriateness of the work of psychologists in CAMHS including supervision and training. Contributing expert knowledge and consulting on complex cases, the Lead Psychologist for CAMHS will also directly contribute to the development of their colleagues. There will be opportunities to lead on trust wide projects and work across a range of specialities and to drive forward and manage relevant service evaluation, time-limited projects and audits as directed by the Head of Therapies

The postholder will need to be a registered Practitioner Psychologist with the HCPC. If you are a creative, compassionate and dynamic leader, this post would be a great fit for you.
