- The post holder will be an integral member of the divisional and the director of nursing's leadership team and take responsibility for key areas of delivery within our outstanding care personally delivered, by ensuring we have the right colleagues, with the right skills in the right place at the right time to service the needs and care or our patients.
- The post holder will provide a key leadership role within the trust and be responsible for the development and maintenance of systems and processes that support the delivery of safe patient care.
- You will ensure patients and commissioners will choose to use the Trust's services again in the future, and patients will share their positive experiences with others.
- The Lead Nurse will collaborate closely with the divisional senior leadership team General Manager, Deputy General Manager, and the Clinical Director, providing leadership for the Urgent and Emergency Care CBU
- The post-holder will ensure that the divisional leadership team is fully informed of the delivery, progress, and risks associated with their responsibilities and accountabilities, escalating risk and providing assurance where required
- As an integral part of this relationship to ensure there are regular meetings between all stakeholders responsible to ensure delivery, governance and transformation, including annual planning where you are required to set out planned activity, strategic goals and workforce plans

Main duties of the job
- Take a lead role in supporting compliance with key quality assurance systems, particularly national and regional service standards across the Clinical Business Unit.
- Providing strategic nursing leadership and professional advice within the Clinical Business Unit in a climate of change that enables the consistent delivery of high-quality services to patients and families.
- Supporting the divisional and CBU leadership team to ensure the Clinical Business Unit delivers its annual plan.
- Support other CBU areas as may be required
- Participate and ensure establishment reviews and protocols reflect national guidance while considering local context of patient trends, demands and needs.
- Investigate and respond to issues associated with nurse staffing as required, analyses and triangulate trends and data with activity and patient dependence and acuity work with care groups to develop remedial plans as required.
- Responsible and accountable for the quality of services provided within the Clinical Business Unit.
- Providing strategic nursing leadership including offering professional advice within the Clinical Business Unit in a climate of change in order to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality care and service to patients and their families.
- Develop and maintain a close working relationship with leaders that are responsible and accountable for a consistent and clear work program and report upwards to the divisional leadership team

- Experience of working in a leadership role within an acute hospital setting at matron level or equivalent
