An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Cancer Centre at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton (UHDB) for a Cancer Centre Team Leader.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about cancer services, leading a team and improving data quality.

The Cancer Centre is responsible for co-ordinating the delivery of National CWT (Cancer Waiting Times) targets, COSD (Cancer Outcomes and Services Datasets) and National Audits, and ensuring the smooth running of Cancer MDT meetings - delivering improved outcomes for our patients.

Main duties of the job

Some of the main duties of the role are:
  • All aspects of day to day management of admin staff
  • Chairing PTL meetings
  • Supporting the service manager and senior management team
  • Acting as a teaching and training resource

To achieve this we are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, with excellent interpersonal, demonstrable management experience and excellent communications skills.

To be effective in working closely with clinical and non-clinical staff and have a flexible and patient centred approach. You should also have previous admin experience, with experience of working with databases and understanding data collecting processes.

The Cancer Centre is based across the 2 acute hospital sites (Royal Derby and Queens Burton) and an on site presence at both sites is vital for this role.

This post is maternity leave cover.
