Main duties of the job
Have you completed a psychology degree which is accredited by the British Psychological Society? Have you experience of working in a clinical or care setting? Are you interested in progressing to train as Clinical Psychologist? Then this post could be for you giving you an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and experience.You will work in a close and supportive team of Neuropsychologists and Clinical Psychologists. You will contribute to patient care in outpatient assessment clinics seeing people with a wide range of neurological and neurodegenerative conditions. You will also have opportunities to work in inpatient stroke services and to assist during awake craniotomy surgery.

The role will include direct clinical work with patients with neurological conditions and their families and carers. The role also involves collaborative working in MDT settings.Opportunities are available to work on clinical research trials and in service audit.Regular supervision and peer support will be provided.The experience gained from this post will provide a suitable foundation for those wishing to pursue professional clinical qualifications.
We are looking for a person who is keen to learn and is able to work effectively in a team. Experience of working within a neuropsychology or neurorehabilitation setting is beneficial. Knowledge or experience of administering neuropsychological assessments is extremely desirable, although not essential as training will be provided. Experience of dealing with difficult patients in emotive circumstances is also beneficial.
In order to be eligible for this post you must make it clear in your application that you have completed a BPS accredited degree in Psychology which gives eligibility for the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership of the society. If you are an overseas applicant, you will need to be able to demonstrate that your degree is comparable by currently holding Graduate Membership of the BPS. Please make it clear in your application whether or not your qualifications meet these specific criteria.
