We are recruiting for an experienced neonatal intensive care sister/charge nurse to join our friendly and supportive team at Croydon University Hospital.

Main duties of the job

Senior Staff Nurse (Neonatal unit)
  • Providing high quality, effective and individualised nursing care to a variety of patients in a compassionate and caring way.
  • Responsible for delivering autonomous and collaborative care, ensuring the well-being and safety of neonates in neonatal intensive care units, and assisting with the stabilisation of neonates
  • Assessing care needs and developing, implementing and evaluating care plans without supervision.
  • Helping to lead and monitor the performance of the nursing team and mentoring students
  • Deputising for the Senior Nurse as required.
  • educating and supporting families, providing them with the necessary information and resources to care for their neonates. In order to provide the highest standard of care,

  • Current registration and revalidation
  • Qualified in Specialty

Experience

  • Experience in a level 2/3 neonatal unit
  • Facilitating and teaching students
  • Good problem solving skills dealing with complex cases
  • Taking charge of the unit
