The post holder will contribute psychiatric care into a multidisciplinary team of mental health practitioners in the Kite Team. The Team is part of the integrated Tier 4 CAMHS for North Wales and will work alongside Community CAMHS and the North Wales Adolescent Service inpatient ward to provide an alternative to admission for adolescents from across North Wales.

Members of the team will work alongside community specialist CAMHS colleagues with young people and families/carers to provide specialist child and adolescent mental health assessments, formulations, treatments and short term interventions for young people experiencing acute and complex mental health problems.

Main duties of the job

• Responsible for the assessment of the patients nursing care needs, and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care to meet those nursing needs.
• Ensure that effective communication is established and maintained with patients and carers/relatives
• Ensure patient needs are met by working collaboratively with other professionals and agencies, especially in relation to ongoing care needs and discharge arrangements
• Provide specialist assessments and treatment packages and contribute to risk assessment and care and treatment planning in line with the Mental Health (Wales)Measure.
• Collect, collate, evaluate and report information, maintaining accurate patient records.
• Contribute to the development of local nursing guidelines, procedures policies etc
• Recognise and respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations
• Deliver high quality, evidenced based clinical care.

• Registered Mental Health Nurse, Part 3 or 13 NMC. OR Relevant professional qualification eg Dip Social Work, Occupational Therapy,

Desirable

• ENB 603 or equivalent.
• ENB 998 or equivalent.
• Diploma/ Degree in Professional Nursing.
• RSCN or experience working in Paediatric Nursing.

Experience

• Relevant post registration experience within CAMHS at Band 5 or above.
