We are very excited to offer this secondment opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to lead one of our trauma and orthopedic wards which specializes in trauma and spinal injury care.This is a great opportunity to work alongside a team of nurse and surgical practitioners as well as spinal care injury specialist coordinator and revision knee clinical specialist and regional network coordinator.
We are looking for an experience nurse that fulfills the job requirement or is interested in a progression role and this is a great opportunity to experience the role of the ward manager.
This is an exciting and progressive department which is continuously adapting to meet and enhance the care provided to our patients and we would welcome any applicants who would relish leading the team and continue taking the department forward.

Main duties of the job
You will be highly motivated, adaptable, and ambitious and will lead on development and delivery of high standards of nursing care to our elective patients within the department.
Essential skills key to this role are implementing and maintaining high clinical standards whilst caring for patients, enhancing staff personal development, providing guidance, support, and expertise to clinical staff. Excellent leadership and communication skills.
You will be responsible for leading, managing teams and maintaining good coordination and communication with the multidisciplinary team.

Job responsibilities
To lead our dedicated trauma ward in coordination with the Matron to provide strong leadership, effective unit management and staff development.
The post holder will be responsible for the line management of the nursing team.
You will lead and work as part of the team, providing professional leadership and management within the work environment.
You will also provide direct patient care, demonstrating specialist knowledge and act as a resource and role model for the clinical team.
The successful candidate will be involved in the whole patient pathway from referral to discharge ensuring high quality care and pathways are maintained and developed.
They will work closely with orthopaedic nurse practitioners, surgical care practitioners, therapy teams and ward and clinic teams in ensuring evidence-based care is the focus of all team members.
This is a senior nursing role and there is an expectation that the post holder will have clinical leadership qualities including team working and team building skills, excellent communication, and organisational skills.
The ability to problem solve and fully participate in the leadership and delivery of high-quality patient care within the division, is essential.
