We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated band 5 Paediatric nurse who is committed to providing quality nursing care in line with the Northern Care Alliance Trust Values.

The service currently comprises of a proactive team of nurses that provides Nursing care and family support to children with Chronic and Complex Needs, Palliative Care and Long term ventilated as well as children with Acute Nursing needs.

The post requires an individual with excellent communication and time management skills, who can prioritise their workload and respond to unexpected demands and scenarios.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be provided with an individualised and structured orientation programme . This will allow the candidate to develop the required high-level skills and knowledge to assess, implement and evaluate the care needs in a variety of settings including the child's home/ clinics / schools and nursery autonomously.

In addition, you will receive regular coordinated supervision and feedback from a variety of sources to allow you to contribute to our services ethos of placing children, young people, and families first.

This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as an Registered Nurse or Midwife in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC PIN within the next 3 months. Please note an NMC PRN PIN is not a full NMC PIN and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.

The NCA can no longer accept applications from International Nurses and Midwives who are yet to complete all competencies needed to receivea full NMC PIN to practice in the UK as we have paused our OSCE programme indefinitely.   • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written / interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate involvement in teaching and mentoring
