Paediatric cardiac physiology is an exciting area of the physiological sciences, and an opportunity has arisen within the arrhythmia team at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual with experience in non-invasive cardiology testing that is interested in developing their skills in ECG interpretation and expand their physiology knowledge. The specialist nature of paediatric cardiac physiology requires a willingness to learn and take on the challenges of working with children and young adults, specialising in congenital heart disease, acquired heart disease and inherited cardiovascular diseases.

Main duties of the job

o Perform ECGs, recognise and interpret abnormal rhythms

o Setup, fit and analyse Holters, event monitors and BP monitors

o Uploading of Holter/Event monitor reports to Epic with appropriate escalation

o To demonstrate a positive attitude to the team and contribute to developments within the department

o To be responsible for the accurate inputting, archiving, and updating of all clinical data into the Cardiology Information Database (Epic)

o Room set-up, calibration of CPET machine and crash trolley checks

This is an opportunity for a physiologist to build on their experiences and develop in the challenging world of paediatrics and congenital/inherited heart disease.

If you have any experience in ECG interpretation and/or cardiopulmonary exercise testing with a science background and want to learn about how your knowledge can be applied in this clinical setting, you are encouraged to apply.
