Cytosponge Clinical Nurse Specialist
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Cytosponge Clinical Nurse Specialist working 37.5hrs Mon - Fri on an initial 6 month fixed term contract.
UHNM's Cytosponge Service is developing and we are looking for someone who possesses excellent organisational and clinical skills relevant to the post with an genuine interest in cytosponge and supporting the expansion of the service.
Applications are open for B5 registered nurses and above with 2yrs post registration experience in the NHS and 1yr experience in Gastro or Endoscopy, who are dynamic, innovative and dedicated, with a strong background in the speciality and exceptional leadership skills.
Main duties of the job
Cytosponge is delivered to patients who are on the symptomatic pathway with routine reflux and for patients who are already on planned waiting list for Barrett's oesophagus surveillance.
The role is multifaceted and includes vetting and right patient selection, delivering triage clinics, delivering the cytosponge capsule clinic as well as follow up and management.
As well as supporting the nursing team in the delivery of a safe, efficient, and patient focused service, striving to achieve the best possible outcome for our patients and staff. You will support quality and governance initiatives and ensure compliance with the audit programme.
