Main duties of the job
Main duties of the jobo Conduct assessments and deliver evidence-based systemic interventions for children, young people (0-18) and their families experiencing a range of mental health difficulties.o Play a key role in developing and implementing the psychodynamic offer within the service, collaborating with colleagues from various disciplines.o Provide support and contribute your expertise to the existing SFP practitioners including establishing a family therapy clinic.o Work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team, including psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and other professionals.o Contribute to ongoing service development and improvement initiatives.

Qualifications
Essential
- Post-graduate/ doctoral level qualification in family and systemic psychotherapy recognised by DOH and AFT.
- The post holder will be AFT accredited or AFT accreditable and working towards AFT accreditation within the first year of employment.
- Evidence of Continuous Professional development as recommended by the AFT.
Desirable
- Core mental health profession, registered with appropriate regulatory body (e.g. HCPC, NMC)
- Training in another psychological therapy, e.g. EMDR, family intervention
- Postgraduate qualification in clinical supervision
- Demonstrate knowledge and use of research methodology
- Demonstrate professional and scholarly activity via conference presentation, teaching experience, publication or similar
Knowledge and Expertise
Essential
- High-level knowledge of the theory and practice of family and systemic psychotherapy.
- Knowledge and Skills of a range of models in the assessment and treatment of child mental health including specific family and systemic theories and evidence base.
- Knowledge and skills in effective communication, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS.
- Knowledge of the relevant clinical research literature and ability to apply it to field of child mental health.
- Knowledge of legislation in relation to the client group and mental health, education and the children Act and Child protection.

- Know about different models of family work and evidence base for family therapy.

- Generic and discipline specific mental health assessments and treatments of children and families across a range of ages.
- Formulating and devising treatment plans for a range of presentations. Including both short and long-term treatment approaches.
- Working autonomously with families providing an assessment and treatment service.
- Contributing to multidisciplinary team meetings and co-working assessments and treatment within clinic-based settings.
- Case managing families requiring longer term family and systemic psychotherapy.

- > 2 years experience in CAMH.
