Are you a HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist looking to gain skills in other laboratory aspects outside of sample testing?

Are you looking for a role within core hours only?

If so, then this role is for you!

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly driven Biomedical Scientist to join us as a Deputy Laboratory Lead in our busy department. The role within Bowel Cancer Screening involves leading a small team of laboratory staff developing your leadership skills within the laboratory setting. You will also liaise with a much wider team to ensure the smooth running of the laboratory, this involves helpline and administration staff as well as other managers. In addition, you will be involved in quality management of the laboratory further adding to your skills repertoire. You will attend monthly meetings presenting back on the laboratory performance to the management team, putting forward new ideas and leading on some laboratory projects.

The Bowel Cancer Screening Programme invites people aged between 50 and 74 years old for FIT screening. Currently we, at the Eastern Hub, send tests to ~ 1 million people each year across the East Midlands and the East of England. The programme aims to reduce deaths associated with the disease by detecting this cancer early at a treatable stage. We also offer a symptomatic service to GPs in Nottingham and local regions providing a FIT service, linking in with clinical teams in the respective regions.
