Upper GI Specialist Nurse
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self motivated, forward thinking individual with significant experience in Upper GI Surgery . You will work alongside the Highly Specialist Nurse, Upper GI surgeons as an integral part of the specialist team. You will see patients on the wards and in Out Patient Clinics.
You will have excellent communication and organisational skills and will be expected to liaise with specialist teams at neighbouring hospitals. It offers an ideal opportunity to make a significant contribution to patient focused services and enhancing the patient experience.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will offer expert knowledge and advice to patients and provide a specialist nursing service in accordance with Specified standards. Strong assessment and decision- making skills are required, as you will be expected to make autonomous professional decisions relating to the health care needs of patients.Applicants must possess or be working towards a relevant nursing degree or relevant experience and ideally hold a teaching qualification. You should possess high levels of drive and initiative and be innovative in developing patient services.

This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as an Registered Nurse or Midwife in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC PIN within the next 3 months.
The NCA can no longer accept applications from International Nurses and Midwives who are yet to complete all competencies needed to receivea full NMC PIN to practice in the UK as we have paused our OSCE programme indefinitely.
