The Senior Nurse for Professional standards is key to progressing the work required to gain successful quality accreditation for nursing and midwiferywards/teams/services across the organisation. This will include the preparation, implementation, evaluation and submission to panel whilst ensuring the ambitious timescales are met.

Responsible for supporting the Executive Director of Nursing and Deputy Director of Nursing, in ensuring that the organisation meets its statutory duties for areas that are relevant to the nursing directorate agenda.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is a senior professional within Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABUHB) and is a vital member of the nursing directorate team. They are responsible for supporting the Executive Director of Nursing, Deputy Director of Nursing and Head of Nursing Education, Development and Regulation in ensuring that the organisation meets its statutory duties for areas that are relevant to the nursing directorate agenda.Key to the role is to contribute and embed continuing improvement within a complex organisation and lead on specific areas of work, to include but not exclusive to:? Implement and embed Ward/Clinic/Service Accreditation across the Health Board? Lead on professional standards for professional practice and behaviour to include policy formation and implementation? Contribute to the professional regulation of nurses and midwives in accordance with the NMC? Support the development and compliance to the Nurse Staffing Levels (Wales) Act 2016? Engage and lead on continuous improvement across the Health Board.
