Here within the Cancer Nursing Team at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, we are looking to recruit a dynamic cancer nurse to the post of Band 7 Gynae Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist - Team Leader (30hrs per week).
The post holder will be expected to work cross site
The role requires a registered nurse who can work autonomously within their scope of practice and of the job description and support the team to deliver safe effective care to our patients. Furthermore, the appointee must be equipped with excellent communication skills and the ability to work within a diverse multi-disciplinary group of clinicians, patients, and allied healthcare providers.
You must be self-motivated, enthusiastic, organised, computer literate and able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with a commitment to continued personal development.

Main duties of the job
About the Role
The principal role of the post holder is to work within a high-quality specialist service to meet the needs of the patient with a gynaecological cancer. This will involve the continual development of patient pathways for the assessment, implementation and management of care for this patient group.
The post holder will provide specialist knowledge and information resources for multi-disciplinary staff, colleagues, patients and families. The post holder will support the physical, emotional, psychological, social and spiritual needs of the patient who has a diagnosis of a gynaecological cancer.
The role will incorporate assessment of educational needs of staff and the formulation and delivery of programmes of education to multi-disciplinary team members. The post holder will inform needs for service development and will initiate and implement service development and delivery. The role will provide a key link within the Cancer Alliance, enhancing communication and continuity of care between the cancer unit and the centre.
