We have an exciting opportunity to offer a mixed adults (0.4 WTE) andchildren's ( 0.6 WTE) dysphagia role within our DCHS SLT team that works under a service level agreement at UHDB.
This unique post will work across the breadth of the lifespan including neonatal intensive care, children's hospital, adult medicine, and adult intensive care. This role is expected to require development and therefore opportunities such as video fluoroscopy training and tracheostomy training will be offered. SLTs who have more adult or children's experience will be given the opportunity to upskill in the less developed clinical area.
This role will be an integral part of both the adult and paediatric teams and will have opportunities to expand skills and leadership development in both.
Please make contact if you would like to discuss this role.
We are looking for an HCPC and RCSLT registered Speech and Language Therapist.
As a clinical employee it will be your responsibility to ensure that your behaviour and values reflect those set out in the DCHS Way.
Main duties of the job
You will be proficient in your abilities to deliver high-quality, evidence-based practice, with assessment and therapeutic abilities, including dysphagia management in this specialist area.
You will have a commitment to providing a high standard of patient-focused care and be a strong team player.
About us
Our purpose is to provide community health services to a patient population of over one million people in Derbyshire and Derby, as part of Joined Up Care Derbyshire.
We employ around 4,200 substantive staff, caring for patients in 11 community hospitals and more than 30 health centres, as well as in clinics, GP practices, schools, care homes and, increasingly, in people's own homes and via virtual consultations.
During the pandemic response we have led the implementation of public vaccination centres in collaboration with partners across health and social care.
